Tunisie: Prospects for Enhancing Economic Cooperation, the Focus of a Meeting Between the Minister of Economy and the Chinese Ambassador

The Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdel Hafidh, met with Wan Li, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Tunisia, on the afternoon of Friday, January 3, 2025.

During the meeting, Samir Abdel Hafidh expressed his satisfaction with the progress and dynamism in bilateral cooperation in recent times, especially following the official visit of the President of the Republic to China in May 2024. He also highlighted the frequent high-level meetings, both in bilateral and multilateral frameworks.

The minister praised the ongoing financial and technical cooperation supporting Tunisia's development efforts and discussed the prospects and opportunities to further enhance this cooperation in the coming phase. He emphasized priority areas such as infrastructure, health, and transportation, in addition to the available opportunities to boost Chinese private investment in Tunisia in a manner that serves the shared interests of both countries.



For his part, Wan Li affirmed the strong bilateral relations across various fields and the Chinese government's commitment to further strengthening and enriching these ties. He expressed China's readiness to continue supporting Tunisia in its development journey and emphasized the promising opportunities to elevate economic relations to higher levels.
